On June 17, 2025, following the Paris Training Day held in March, a training day was held in Kyoto for the Japan team.
In addition to all members of the Japan project team (the Hira-Ogi Team, the Sado Team, and the core members from RIHN), the event was also attended by Program Director Shobayashi, Fellowship Researcher Prof. McGreevy, students from Kyoto University involved in the Hira-Ogi Team Living Lab, and members of the French team working on the development of SILA (Satoyama Integrated Landscape Assessment), making it a full and enriching day.
The day began with opening remarks from Prof. Dwyer.

Nearly 20 participants gathered in the Lecture Hall at RIHN.
Following Prof. Dwyer’s explanation of the project and the purpose of the training day, Prof. Toyoda from Niigata University gave a presentation on the progress of the Sado Team.
She participated online.
Prof. Fukumachi from Kyoto University gave a presentation on the Hira-Ogi Team.

In the afternoon, the venue was moved to a meeting room in the General Building of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyoto University.

The first half of the afternoon session focused on a presentation by Prof. Dwyer and a discussion on the operation of the Living Lab.
In the latter half of the afternoon, Prof. Devienne and Ms. Bouhield from the French team joined the session and gave a lecture on the Agrarian Diagnosis, a core component of SILA.

Finally, everyone gathered for a group photo. Thank you all for your hard work throughout the long day!
